MYP pair up with PYP for Literacy Week!
To celebrate literacy across the school we hosted a collapse day for students in grades 1-9. Classes were ‘buddied’ up for 2 hours after break to engage in a variety of literacy activities planned by the homeroom teachers. An example of the buddy schedule can be found on the SWAliteracy website here:
Monday: Assembly & Buddy Activities
We kicked-off the assembly with a short video showcasing ‘literacy’ around our school. Following this, students had the opportunity to participate in a short quiz about literacy! John McBryde, the CEO, was a contestant against one representative from grades 1-5. John called on students in the audience to help him answer the questions…it was a dynamic game that the whole audience enjoyed!
